Town Mayor
Art Franco is serving his ninth term as mayor and previously served on the Town Council and the Anthony Independent School District Board. Born in Anthony, Texas, he graduated from Gadsden High School and attended New Mexico State University.
He currently serves as president of the Rio Grande Council of Government, as member of El Paso MPO, Solid Waste Advisory Committee, and was appointed to the board of the West Texas Regional Review Committee.
During his tenure as mayor, the town has added more than 25 new major businesses and has received more than $25 million in grant money for infrastructure and parks improvements. The police department has grown from seven to 14 officers, to include two canine units and a full-time school resource officer at Anthony ISD.
